ABOUT

SBB_2797

Founded in 2013 by outdoor industry and conservation sector veterans Steven Brutger and Matthew Copeland, Stalking the Seam is an award winning, original content, digital outlet frequented by a dedicated audience of serious sporting enthusiasts. STS Creative, the services arm of Stalking the Seam, draws on that same authenticity to provide a broad suite of content solutions for commercial, non-profit and editorial clients. Whether they want catalog imagery, product copy, press materials or next month’s cover piece, all of our clients are looking for memorable stories that ring true. Telling those stories is our passion.

Matthew Copeland

Matthew Copeland

A proud native of Charlottesville Virginia, Matt served a six year corporate sentence in Major Metro USA before finding his way home to Wyoming. He enjoyed a 16 year career in professional persuasion for market leaders in high-tech, outdoor education and wildlife conservation before setting out to serve on his own terms. Now, when not helping clients, hunting, fishing or playing in the mountains, he’s writing about it for assorted national magazines.

Steven Brutger

With a tendency to dive in with gusto, Steven puts the same energy into raising his two kids as he does into fishing, training gun dogs, or chasing elk (although he recognizes children are ultimately a bigger commitment).  Raised on a family owned guest ranch in Montana, Steven’s career in outdoor education, conservation and photography has kept him in the west. He calls Bozeman, Montana home.

CAPABILITES

Commercial

In the outdoor sector, where brands live and die by their authenticity and allegiance, there is no substitute for credibility. STS Creative helps clients craft and deliver stories that ring true. Are your customers the real deal? We speak their language.

Editorial

Matt and Steven work independently, and as a words and images team, with national and regional publications on pieces ranging from science and travel to in-depth policy analysis and news reporting. Are you looking for a fresh voice for your audience?

Strategic Communications

Perception is, for better or worse, reality. All too often, the impacts of good work are diluted by ineffective communication with membership, donors and the media, or undone altogether by rogue messaging. You have a great a story to tell. Let us help you tell it.

Imagery

Audiences today expect authenticity. Nothing establishes credibility as firmly, connects you to a community as quickly, or grabs attention as broadly as the right image. We live where those images are made, and capturing them is our business.

 “These guys get it!”

– Steve Kilpatrick: Executive Director, Wyoming Wildlife Federation
