Friday Classic: Commendation

“Hump had taken a helluva beating, but the kids kept calling for more fish. I tried to talk him out of it. ‘Just look at yourself’, I said. ‘Get back in the box… you’re through, you’ve done enough’. But there was no talking to him.” – Specialist Adams, Parachute Squadron

“Did Copeland ask too much by sending him back out?  Look…we were heavily engaged in a high-density contact zone, with explicit orders from The Brass to pour on more pressure. I’m not gonna second guess a fellow angler’s decisions, especially those made midstream.” – S. Brutger, STS Division HQ Staff

For exceptionally meritorious service while assigned as a Forward Operating Reconnaissance Agent assigned to 4x Squadron, 5 Weight Regiment on July 20, 2013. His fearlessness and dedication to duty resulted in multiple high-value target captures and mission accomplishment. When called upon, Yellow Humpy #14 deployed repeatedly without hesitation or consideration of personal safety, even after sustaining multiple mortal injuries.  His devotion to duty is in keeping with the finest traditions of Non-Representative Attractor Patterns and reflects great credit upon him, the 4x Squadron, 5 Weight Regiment, the 28th Dry-Fly Brigade, the 1st  STS Division, and the Weekend Warrior Army.

Let it be known that on this, the 14th day of August, 2013 Yellow Humpy #14 is awarded the Distinguished Service Hook.
